How to Use A Smudge Kit:
Make sure a window and front door are open so you can allow energy to move throughout the space when performing this ritual.
Step 1: Hold the sage smudge stick at one end and light the other end, gently blow the fire out so it creates a stream of smoke.
Step 2: Take the feather in your other hand, and walk around your space fanning the clearing smoke with the feather. Fan it up and down, and side to side to honor the four directions and four elements of water, earth, fire, and water.
Step 3: As you are walking and fanning the smoke around your home or space, say out loud positive words of affirmation and/or prayer with authority to clear the space of energies that do not serve you or your higher purpose.
Step 4: Hold the palo santo downward at a 45-degree angle and light it. Let the stick burn for about 30 seconds (let it burn longer than the sage). Blow out the flame. Place the stick in a heatproof dish to let it burn. Palo Santo clears negative energy and restores tranquility and calm emotions.
